Wednesday chess is coming!

We are wanting to gauge interest in hosting weekly sessions on a Wednesday night at the Whangarei Bridge club 17 North Street, Woodhill, Whangārei 0110. If there is enough interest to make this permanent, club nights will range from multi week tournaments in a range of time controls (blitz, rapid, classical), chess lessons, social chess, fun variants, potential for interclub challenges plus whatever members can dream up!

We are hosting an initial 6 round rapid tournament starting on Wednesday 26th of August. Doors will open around 6:30 with the first game expected to start at 7pm. We will play 2 games a night over 3 weeks and on the 16th of September hold a meeting on where to from here. To cover the costs there will be a fee of $10 per night for adults and $5 per night for juniors (<18) there is no obligation to play each night and you are welcome to join at any time even up to game 6!
