A few simple guidelines to help keep chess nights enjoyable and running smoothly for everyone:
🤫 Keep the playing area quiet
Please avoid talking during games within the playing area. If you want to have a casual game, analyse a position, or catch up with others, there is a side room available for this during rounds.
🗣️ Be respectful
Please use respectful and appropriate language, and be mindful of those around you when having conversations. We want the club to be welcoming and enjoyable for players of all ages.
☕ Tea & coffee
Help yourself to tea and coffee. Please wash your cup, mug or other dishes after use and leave them to dry on the designated mat.
♟️ Reset your board
Once you have finished your final game of the night, you are welcome to head off. You don’t need to stay for pack-up. However, please reset all the pieces on the board before leaving. This helps us make sure every set is complete and ready to pack away.
